Support the New Forest Rural Broadband Bid

The UK Government has signaled its desire to bring superfast broadband to rural communities (that’s over 24 mbps – current speeds are as low as 0.25mbps in the New Forest).

The National Park Authority is working with New Forest District Council, Hampshire County Council to help this happen. Many rural communities are going to be connected over the next three years as part of the counties’ Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) roll out.

In addition to this, funds are available through the Rural Communities Broadband Fund (RCBF) to assist premises which are not part of either the BDUK or commercial rollout. The above authorities are preparing a bid for £1m to assist identified premises within the New Forest and we’re seeking your support with this process.

Below is a supporting letter template. Please fill in your personal details plus any other detail you wish to add and return it to the address shown before Friday 21st February. This support will be vital in helping us to secure funds and thus improve broadband speeds for many rural properties in the New Forest.
