2021 Brilliance in Business Awards receives record entries

The resilience of the New Forest’s business community was demonstrated at this year’s Brilliance in Business Awards with a record number of applicants making it the event’s largest ceremony in its sixteen year history.

Over 200 business representatives and dignitaries gathered in Brockenhurst last night, Thursday 2 December 2021, to celebrate the annual New Forest Brilliance in Business Awards. Matthew Lawson, Chairman of the New Forest Business Partnership, welcomed New Forest businesses, local decision-makers and sponsors to celebrate the achievements of over 40 finalists who have demonstrated outstanding achievements and help to underpin our New Forest Economy. “This very special event is all about sharing the success stories of these exceptional businesses and individuals to encourage and inspire the 9000 businesses in the New Forest. We had a record number of entries this year which is testament to the resilience of our New Forest Businesses in these extraordinary times.”

Fourteen businesses won awards, but it was The Forest Foodie who scooped The Solent Local Enterprise Group Award for New Forest Business of the Year, as well as The New Forest Marque Award for Food and Drink. The Forest Foodie was created by Flora, the founder, in the Summer of 2020 as she set out to support as many local producers as possible and help feed the circular economy of The New Forest.

Guests enjoyed networking over drinks and canapes at this year’s new venue, Brockenhurst College, which enabled a larger scale event with four new awards created this year. The winners of each of the categories are:
