The Brand New Forest Broadband Campaign Group is joint programme between New Forest Business Partnership, New Forest District Council, the National Park Authority, the New Forest Association of Town and Parish Councils and the Voluntary sector. Its aim is to ensure significantly improved broadband speeds throughout the forest to ensure widespread economic and social benefits for a successful future for all.

The next meeting of the Brand New Forest Broadband Campaign Group will take place at Appletree Court, Lyndhurst on Monday 5th March at 6:30pm (refreshments will be available from 6pm.). This follows the inaugural meeting of the group which took place in January to identify issues and potential areas of concern and for broadband provision throughout New Forest District.

Since the initial meeting Hampshire County Council have received confirmation that their £5m bid to Broadband Delivery UK has been accepted along with the announcement of a second round of the RDPE Rural Community Broadband Fund. With this investment comes the need for a co-ordinated approach from all interests in the New Forest’s community to ensure that all local needs will be met.

If you wish to attend this meeting please confirm to me by email matt.callaghan@nfdc.gov.uk directly before FRIDAY 2 MARCH 2012.
