New Forest Business Support Hour

13 November, 2024 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Join us for our weekly informal online networking meeting – an opportunity to update each other on how our businesses are progressing, to meet new people and to ask each other questions in a relaxed setting.

We welcome Gillian Saieva, Founder of Bennett & Bell Associates to discuss raising the productivity of your business.

In the UK context, the so-called “productivity puzzle”, the slowdown in productivity growth in the UK since the Great Recession, has been a particular focus of concern for economists and policymakers.

Understanding what lies behind this poor productivity, and more recently the impact of the pandemic and leaving the EU, has alerted policy makers to respond to research findings indicating the role management practices might play – the rise of the accidental manager!

The UK comes out behind the top G7 performers (the US, Canada, Japan, Germany and Sweden) and this lag is in large part because a greater proportion of our workplaces have relatively poor management practices.

This session will discuss management related challenges that could be holding you or your business back, while learning of a range of government funded and collaborative working initiatives with a local university that could help you turn that corner to productivity, with even more support to work on your business.

You do need to book your FREE place by 1500 on the day. You will then receive an email before the meeting starts with the Zoom meeting ID and password to enable you to join the meeting online.
