New Forest Business Support Hour
9 December, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeJoin us – with a cup of tea or coffee – for an informal virtual networking meeting! An opportunity to update each other on how our businesses are progressing post-lockdown, to meet new people and to ask each other questions in a relaxed setting.
Today we welcome David Lawrence, Senior Partner Eric Robinson Solicitors and Board Member of the NFBP.
Business Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) allow you (the business owner) to appoint a suitable attorney to make decisions concerning your business interests when you are unavailable or lack mental capacity.
If there is no business LPA in place, certain risks arise. For instance, if one of the bank account signatories lacks capacity the bank can freeze the account to protect the now vulnerable adult. If there is an overdraft, the possibility of the bank freezing the account is greater.
Some businesses have undergone crisis management – identifying and preparing for probable risks, such as floods, computer hacks or theft. Fewer businesses consider preparations for significant business decision-makers being incapacitated. If there is no business LPA in place, your business may be exposed to uncertainty of survival.
Support and advice is on hand with the opportunity to share experience and expertise with fellow New Forest businesses. We look forward to welcoming you online!
Please note that this is a virtual Zoom meeting and is free of charge.
You do need to book by 1400 on Wednesday. You will then receive an email just after 1400 with the Zoom meeting ID and password to enable you to join the meeting online.
