GDPR: One year on, are your policies in good shape? – Update from event

On 23 May NFBP members and non-members gathered at St Barbe Museum and Art Gallery in Lymington to get an update on General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). We were very well looked after and having never visited St Barbe Museum for a Business Briefing before we are very much looking forward to returning. You can find out more about the work of the museum by clicking here.

It was May 2018 when the new GDPR came into play and we all had to rethink about the way we contacted our customers, networked with other businesses owners and managed the data we owned. Although a rather daunting period of time, one year on are we still feeling the GDPR pressure and are we all really doing everything we could do to protect ourselves?

Simon Humphreys from South Coast Data Consultants gave an update on GDPR. Simon touched on the basic principles of what we should be considering when asking for somebody’s personal data. He also covered the legal side of GDPR and stressed the importance of this. For more information on South Coast Data Consultants or to find support for your business click here.
