Launch of Brilliance in Business Awards – Update from event

This morning’s networking breakfast saw the launch of the Brilliance in Business Awards 2018/19.

Held at NFBP member Chewton Glen, over 20 delegates arrived and enjoyed networking together before tucking in to a delicious buffet breakfast.

After breakfast, chairman Matthew Lawson officially launched the Brilliance in Business Awards and encouraged attendees to either put their own business forward or to nominate a suitable business.

Delegates then had the chance to hear from three of last year’s winners; Col-Tec Solutions (Innovation and Entrepreneurship) and Cyclexperience (Outstanding Contribution to the New Forest Visitor Economy, Outstanding Contribution to the National Park / Sustainable Business Award and NFBP Business of the Year) and Shorefield (Training and Development).

Bobbie Lawrence from Shorefiled Holidays started the presentations and spoke about what winning the award meant to his team, ‘The Brilliance in Business Awards are a great way to help recognise teams and members of staff for their hard work. Being part of an award winning business is something people feel proud that they’re a part of. These awards are a great chance to thank and celebrate our employees and the business.’

This was followed by Peter Wilson from Col-Tec Solutions who spoke about how winning the award has helped to develop their business further, ‘The award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship last year has allowed us to further development of the product with confidence and raise the profile of the company in general and help recruitment in key areas’.

Nikki Ryce from Cyclexperience finished off the presentations by encouraging businesses to nominate themselves and others ‘I would really recommend entering your business for the NFBP awards and experience some of the many benefits that it will bring.’

We were also delighted to have representatives from three of the sponsors present; Anthony Climpson and Paul Sherry from Go New Forest and David Lawrence from Eric Robinson Solicitors along with David Robberts from New Forest Enterprise Centre.

The rest of the morning was spent networking and new business relationships were made.
