The second LinkedIn Local New Forest gathering was held on 19 June 2019 at Balmer Lawn Hotel. Many local business owners and their colleagues attended the gathering to network with other local businesses.
PEDALL New Forest Inclusive Cycling was the chosen charity for this gathering. PEDALL, which was started in 2011, provides cycling sessions for people who face a barrier to accessing cycling in the New Forest. A barrier is anything that prevents someone from being able to cycle without additional support, which includes age, mobility issues and economic, cultural and social challenges.
Donna Neseyif and Gareth Jones, both from PEDALL, were at the LinkedIn Local gathering and gave a brief introduction as to the work the charity does and stressed the need to secure more funding in order to allow the work of the charity to continue. We are pleased to announce that this LinkedIn Local gathering raised £230 for PEDALL which we hope will help them in continuing to support those who face a disadvantage with cycling, a sport which is so popular in the New Forest. Donna Neseyif said:
“The donation from LinkedIn Local will make a big difference to the project and help us to maintain the bikes. Funding like this is critical to allow us to keep the bikes running and help more people who wouldn’t normally be able to get out in the New Forest cycling and enjoying the beautiful National Park. Thank you to LinkedIn Local for supporting PEDALL New Forest Inclusive Cycling and for everyone who came along to the event.”

The rest of the evening was busy with local businesses networking over some delicious food and drink put on by Balmer Lawn. Sarah Griffin from FLYTE Creative Media briefly interrupted the networking to give some top tips on how to get the best out of your LinkedIn account.
The next LinkedIn Local New Forest gathering will be taking place on 21st August 2019 at Rhinefield House Hotel and we very much hope to see you there!
