The first NFBP Business Briefing of the year focused on the marine sector and the broad range of opportunities it brings to our local economy.
Held at the new member venue Stanwell House Hotel in Lymington, delegates heard from two guest speakers, firstly from Stu Baker of Solent Local Enterprise Partnership who outlined the plans of the organisation now that they have sole responsibility for New Forest District. Keith Longman of Berthon Boat Company then provided detail of the company’s training programme specifically around the provision of apprenticeships.
Updates from attendees then provided further detail of the opportunities and linkages which can be made within the various strands of the marine sector. This ranged from the work taking place to reduce plastic pollution along the New Forest Coastline to training and development opportunities for young people at the Marchwood Marine Technologies Centre.
NFBP hold events of this nature every two weeks. The next event is on 24th January and focusses on Cybercrime and the essential information needed to protect your business.
