NFBP Apprentice Event – Brockenhurst College (16 March 2016)

Local businesses gathered at Brockenhurst College on Wednesday 16 March to hear recruiting an apprentice could benefit their business. With a government pledge to support 3 million new placements by 2020, there’s now a range of support, both practical and financial, to help businesses through this process.

Alan Jenkins from the National Apprenticeship Service gave delegates a detailed presentation on the new apprenticeship structures currently being rolled out as well as an insight into the wide variety of apprentice types available. His talk also gave the all-important financial information about taking on an apprentice and the incentives which are available.

Jack Manley from Freestyle Web Design provided an insight into having both been an apprentice and now being the owner of a business which has recruited two. He explained how positive the whole experience has been and how these recruits have helped to significantly grow the business.

Neil Flanagan from Brockenhurst College then explained the detailed support and assistance which the college can provide to any business seeking to take on an apprentice. From the recruitment stage right through to the support provided throughout.

Presentations are now available to view and download in our Members’ Area
