Rural Communities Broadband Fund Application
As you may be aware, work is underway to rollout superfast Broadband (24MB) to 90% of the properties within Hampshire. Beyond this however, there is a need to address those properties which will fall within the final 10%
The final 10% will be exclusively in rural areas and as such, an application is being made to the Rural Communities Broadband Fund (RCBF). The bid is being led by the New Forest National Park Authority (NPA) with support from New Forest District Council and Hampshire County Council.
Work including the Broadband Survey will feed into the evidence process but beyond this, we need support from individual local businesses. As such, we’d like to ask local businesses to complete and return to the NPA a letter of support to demonstrate backing for the bid. Please feel free to adapt the letter as you see appropriate.

The submission will be made in late August, we will of course keep you posted on any progress.
I am seriously thinking of transferring my business from London to Beaulieu I can recruit staff and offices
however the only thing holding me back is the Broadband. Sadly its very bad and not strong enough..
We live in an area in Beaulieu where the broadband speed is so slow we are unable to down load from BBC iplayer and other download sites.
It would be great to have a faster broadband as here in Bransgore the speed often drops to around 2MB during the daytime. In the late evening it can reach 6MB and averages around 4MB.
I have relatives in Hong Kong where the speed is 100MB!!! We are so far behind.
My broadband reception at Everton Lymington is very poor ,about O.84 and often shuts off. ANYTHING that can be done to improve it will be appreciated.
I live in Hordle and the internet speed is incredibly slow and most often below 1MB/S. When talking to neighbours and friends living in the local area it is clear that Hordle, Everton, Tiptoe and Sway have a real issue with any kind of “superfast” broadband. Many others and myself believe that some money should be invested in these areas to help the local infrastructure – helping residences and businesses suffering with poor and inadequate broadband speed. Hope you help us!
I am a private user of broadband. Whilst the connection speed is sufficient for BBC I Player it does fail during times of heavy local internet usage. Being at the end of a long tortuous cable system, winding up and down cul-de-sacs the inevitable drop in signal strength occurs, also being aluminium cable reliability suffers. Both cost economies back in the 70’s when BT was not at its best. Hopefully fibre optic can transform internet usage sooner rather than later.
We live between Beaulieu and Bucklers Hard. Our speed is usually 0.2.
BT say that they promised us “up to 20.0” so they are fulfilling their contractual obligation.
I’m very envious of you people talking about iPlayer – that’s well outwith the capability we have here!!
We live at the extreme end of the sub station in Hythe car park. As such, my broadband speed is less than 1 meg. This gives problems with long documents, pictures and the like, which frequently cut off as they are taking so long.
While the broadband is pretty good in Ringwood there are times when it is slower often in the evening when maybe its very busy? { I’m not fluent in the tech language of the above ! }so if its possible to improve it we would really appreciate it! hopefully with no detriment to the environment, many thanks
