Time Management: Become more productive – Update from event

This morning’s business briefing was held at Beaulieu Hotel, part of the New Forest Hotel family and NFBP member. Clare Norman from Clare Norman Coaching Associates presented on Time Management: Become more productive. Gemma Jack, from New Forest Hotels, welcomed everyone to the venue and spoke briefly about her role within the business and what their variety of hotels can offer.

Clare began by asking everyone present to introduce themselves and talk about what they find challenging within their business and individual roles. Issues were raised such as managing expectations, managing your team and trusting them to meet deadlines and deliver on their work as well as what the business should be outsourcing.

Clare stressed the need for employers to encourage their employees to think for themselves. The risk of employers providing all of the answers to employees constantly can lead to the risk of them becoming disengaged within their role. She discussed with those present to encourage other members of their team to think for themselves and offered suggestions and advice in order to know how to do this.

Clare put what she had taught into practice with one attendee who volunteered to have a 15 minute 1:1 with her talking about just one area of their work which they needed help with. It was a brilliant opportunity for those who attended to see how to get the best out of employees by asking the right questions.

Thank you to New Forest Hotels for hosting us once again and for Clare Norman for this interactive briefing.
